POCKET NC START UP ADDITIONAL TIPS

1) Make sure you installed the software per Pocket NC instructions... 
And that XMing is running in the system tray.

Some people have trouble with Xming on Windows 10
you might need to get the latest version... from http://www.straightrunning.com/


2) Double check the USB cable is FULLY inserted AND connects to the computer 
AND theBeagleBone show up with a drive letter.


3) Next open a command prompt and try pinging 192.168.7.2
it is the IP address we input into the Putty screen



4) You can check if BeagleBoard is connected

You should get a connected screen like this...

5) Make sure putty is properly configured per Pocket NC's instructions...


5a) Make sure Putty also has Enable X11 set...

5C) Putty has additional setting for Line Echo - It shows what you typed...

5d) This also adds a blinking cursor to the terminal to let you know it's alive...



6) REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR PUTTY SETTINGS 
REMEMBER TO LOAD THE PUTTY SETTINGS
Next launch Putty by double clicking loading the configuration and hitting Open


7) At the Putty terminal screen input pocketnc and hit enter


8) at the next Putty terminal screen input linuxcnc and hit enter


9) The Machinekit inital screen loads and hit OK


10) At this point the main CNC program called AXIS should be launched shown below...
11) Hit the little button I highlighted to start the servos...
11) Next hit the HOME software button to home the axis.
12) At this point you can play around and start the spindle move the tables etc...
